And if there's time, we might go to Bed Bath and Beyond

Happy weekend!

I started today off at my 6:00 a.m. step and sculpt class. We did an "intense" series of shoulder exercises, which means I'll be having "intense" shoulder pain this weekend!

On my way home I noticed that the shopping carts were finally gone from our neighborhood. Yay!

So, not much exciting planned this weekend, but I do have a lot I'd like to accomplish. I'm going to post my to-do list here in hopes that it'll make me accountable for actually completing it:

-- Buy my sister a birthday gift
-- Buy Erika an engagement gift
-- Do the laundry
-- Clean the house
-- Plant flowers and veggies (if it doesn't rain)
-- Weed the backyard (if it doesn't rain)
-- Go to the gym twice
-- Finish my cards for my birthday card swap
-- Finish my New Year's Eve scrapbook
-- Buy craft stapler at The Container Store
-- Write up a course description for my class at the community center

Well, I gotta go. Steve and I are going to watch "Derailed."

Mmm Mmm Good!

Tonight I had a bowl of Campbell's Chicken and Stars for dinner and I watched the movie "Junebug." Both were quite good!

When the moon hits your eye ...

I'm all about the Trader Joe's ready-to-bake pizza dough. That's what we had for dinner tonight. You roll the dough out, add you favorite toppings and bake for 10 minutes. And the pizza is scrumptious! Best of all, it's only 99 cents for a bag of the dough!! The only bad thing is it's not quite diet-friendly. Oh well, guess nothing's perfect.

Peep Peep!

Just when I thought I'd have nothing to write about today, I got two great surprises in the mail! First I saw a package and wondered what it could be, since I hadn’t recently ordered anything online for myself. It was the best surprise I’ve gotten in a while! I opened the box and saw the familiar Williams Sonoma wrapping, and my curiosity was piqued. I opened the card and it was from my newly engaged friend, Erika, who now lives in Florida. When I unwrapped the package, I practically passed out!! It is my very own marshmallow peeps-making kit!! I’m going to have so much fun with it. I absolutely cannot wait to share my personalized peeps with the world!! And Erika is just about the most thoughtful person I know!

The other surprise was an invitation to a co-ed baby shower for our friends Jim and Shannon who are expecting a new addition in May. I was also overwhelmed with excitement when I saw this, as I finally had an excuse to make a diaper cake! All of the other baby showers I’ve been invited to recently were long distance (a diaper cake is not exactly shippable) or involved a group gift of some sort. Since Steve had a meeting tonight, I rushed off to Target to purchase my supplies and spent the evening tying 80 diapers into little rolls to make this glorious cake! I can’t wait to bring it to the party!!

In the Ghetto

Why has my neighborhood suddenly become the ghetto? Over the weekend Steve and I spotted two abandoned shopping carts in very close proximity to our home. They’ve been there for more than three days now, and nobody else seems to care. I contacted the city today an asked to have them removed. We’ll see how long that takes …

In other news, I made teriyaki salmon and vegetables for dinner tonight. Steve gave Jackson half a can of tuna so he wouldn’t be jealous of our fishy feast!
