Here are my two other Thanksgiving contributions: cranberry sauce and sweet potato casserole. I have much experience with those, so they came out delicious. The pie was good, but it was a bit gooey and probably could have used a few more minutes in the oven. Oh well, live and learn.

To get into the Christmas spirit, we saw "Deck the Halls" last night. From the commercials it seemed like it could have been a new "Christmas Vacation," but it didn't quite measure up. If you're looking for a good movie to see this weekend, look further.

I am far from Anti-Christmas, but I have to say that tying a Christmas bow around a piece of crap does not make it a present. This is how I feel about the dozens of Christmas movies put out the last few years. It seems that every 5 - 10 years or so, you get a "Christmas Story" or a "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" or for a change of pace, "Bad Santa". But since parents are desperate to take their kids to a Christmas movie, you get 10 "Christmas with the Kranks" or that one with Ben Affleck and Tony Soprano. Rule of thumb, if it's a Christmas movie, don't see it. If people are still watching it next Christmas, it might be good.

Dude, you really need a blog of your own. This is a true gem, buried deep in the comments of one of my old posts! You're really not doing yourself justice.
